Abstract In a previous article, (see A Shrine for Sokar) I proposed that there was to be found at Giza, in Egypt, an original shrine to the god Sokar and that this shrine, the so called Shetayet, was the original in a long line of subsequent shrines analogous to it. It is the intention of this article to show, that not only was the Shetayet shrine at Giza an original in the land of Egypt, but that it was a precursor and archetype for several later ideas of the axis mundi, or navel of the world. It is my contention that the original Giza model and all that it entailed (see the further work of David Ritchie and his geometrical model of Giza), was in fact the blueprint for the later Judeo/Christian idea of the perfect city of god, an original Jerusalem in effect. I intend to link together three centres of religious culture, showing how all three, namely Giza, Jerusalem and the Kaaba at Mecca, are analogous to each other and how all three show identical traits and appearance. Further I will demonstrate how the three are also connected to the Sumerian concepts of creation and the afterlife as well as much later historical and mythological concepts from around the old world. In conclusion I will also show how the Egyptian god figure, Sokar, becomes the original concept and ideology behind the many messiah figures throughout later history. Along the way I hope to demonstrate that sexual and erotic concepts were at the very centre of these ancient ideas about omphalos points, navel points, world centres and foundation points. I will show how the main anchor of similarity, namely sacred stones, are by their very nature, both male and female in potency and that it was this concept of duality that bound these ancient traditions together........
