Old doesn't always mean bad. Here in From the Vaults, we will be bringing you regular facsimile copies of long forgotten journal/magazine/book articles that we feel may be of interest. Each article appears in full and is unabridged from the original - strange spelling and grammar included - the only things we add will be more visuals in the form of up to date pictures and graphics that enhance the article. So, pull up a pew, sit back and ENJOY... We are kicking off with some pretty rare articles. Covington's tomb is a little known about feature of the Giza plateau - sitting about a mile due south of the Great Pyramid, this early dynastic tomb was excavated by American philanthropist, L Dow Covington in the first few years of the 20th century. Surprisingly, there are many more early dynastic remains and features in the Giza area - watch this space for more information. Cole's survey of the Great Pyramid was a landmark achievement in its time. More technically proficient than Petrie's survey, Cole's remains the benchmark that all others follow. Previously only available from the Government press in Cairo, we make it available to you here for the first time. For pure novelty value, the Sayce article on the age of Stonehenge can't be beaten. Anyone that says ancient sea trade is a thing of fantasy and imagination - lead them here!
